Day 3 and evening of day 2

Well after my last post I had said that we were going to go to the creek. Well we did, and it was awesome. Nice and cold on the feet. So after that it was around 4 o´clock and we had to go sign in to our sleeping area. Our sleeping area could fit 120 people, and I say, it was full!!! All of the beds were full. After waiting in a line for 10 minutes, I got in the shower, so yeah, there was alot of people. The people that ran the place we Dutch, so my dad talked to them in dutch. To beable to sleep we all put ear plugs in and then went to sleep, mine fell out half way through the night, and let me tell you, it was loud!! Lots of snoring.
Day 3.
At six o´clock we were on the road. The weather was clear sky and a little bit cold and damp. We were going to hike to the first town, 3.5 km, for breakfast, but none of the shops were open, so we hiked to the next town, 3.2km, but none of them were open. Mrs. Ewald made a comment saying that if in the next town there was no food, we could all eat her sesame sead crackers, we all laughed. It turned out that the next place did have a place to eat. I had a bun with a omelete on it, it was amazing, and of course, another amazing coke. European coke it way better than Canadian coke, and less calories too. So after breakfast we started hiking again and after 10 more kilometers we made it to the town we are in right now, Zubrir. It is a nice little town, and again we are going to sleep in a room with around 28 people in it. So shall be fun.
Tomorrow we are going to Pamplona. No we will not beable to see the running of the bulls, we are 3 days to early, but that is fine. I shall probably write in Pamplona. (Eilko, I will tell you what we decided tomorrow) Well again, I am almost out of time so I shall go now. I hope all of you in smithers are having goos weather, even though you had a thunderstorm yesterday. We are having around 25-30 degree weather, it is beautiful. I have a big farmers tan, hehe.
Thank you all for leaving comments, I really appreciate that. Oh, and I just want to say that today, I had to wait 15 minutes at the end of the trail for everyone to catch up, I was hauling man!!!!!!!!

day 1 and day 2

Well, as I said, we made it to St. Jean. When we got there we went to the little office and a duth guy helped us and explained to us the tough legs of the hike and such. So after a little shopping around for a waterbottle, I forgot mine, we were off. Dad and I both decided that mom would go crazy in the town, because there was so many different little stores with cool stuff in it, and the open air market. So we started walking and it was going just fine, nice and easy and flat until 20 minutes into the hike it started to incline......and it didn´t stop!! We stopped after an hour of hiking and took off our boots and looked at the beautiful sceanery, it was amazing. So after 10 minutes of sitting there and catching our breath, we started to hike again, like I said, the incline did not stop. I knew that it was a shorter hike so I just went as hard as I could, with in reason, and we made it to the top within two hours, it is supposed to take 3. We hiked some more and then we got to our stay for the night. It was called the Orison Auberge. It was a beautiful place. We had a nice sight of the whole valley because we were so high up. We had climbed around 900 meters. So the place we stayed at had a little deck that looked over the valley and there was a restaurant and sleeping place accross the road. One of the people running it was a British Guy, and everytime he talked, I imitated what he said because I love the english accent. So Dad and Betty had a beer and Mrs. Ewald had a water, and I had one of the best cokes I have ever had in my life, mind you I could have drunk dirty water and it would have tasted pretty good. For lunch we all had a baguette with Jambon and Cheese. It was amazing! After having a shower and doing laundry, since we sweat so much that day, we sat on the deck for abit and then ate dinner. Dinner consisted of Soup, lamb, and some kind of bean soupish stuff. at around 9 we went to bed. Great sleep. For break fast, we had a bowl of Coffee or Tea, yes a bowl, like a soup bowl, and bread with Jam, very good. So we started off again.
WE started off the hike with a large hill, and it took a while to climb. Once we started getting up higher it was getting really really windy, like it was so windy it was almost knocking me over. There was also a lot of sheep, and wild horses. I have to keep this short because I only have 6 minutes to type. We crossed the France Spainish border. Walked through mud, and saw alot of beautiful sceanery. We also hike up to the second highest point of the trail, 1450 meters, we started hiking at 200 meters. We after a much longer hike, we made it to Roncesvalles. There is a big Monastary there. Tonight we are going to stay in a place with 120 other people, in one room, so it will be interesting, it is currently 28 degrees and really sunny. We are going to cool off in a little creek down the road, I shall try right again. Tomorrows hike is 27kms long. And Eilko, my dad says, if tickets for the game is not to expensive, buy two for me and him, and one for you of course. St. Jean Pied de Port

And we are here. After 3 and a half hours of train trips and sleeping in a hotel and watch Spain win the European Cup, not germany, Spain!!!!!, we are here. It was quite a long trip. This is not going to be a long post because we are in St. Jean right now and we are about to start hiking. I am just going to say that we are all doing well here, and we met up with mrs. Ewald and her niece on the train. It was pretty cool. The weather is cloudy but stil around 18 degrees. Our first hike is only 10km, but it is really steep, so it will take a while. Mrs. Ewald is wonderful to travel with.....so far.....since we've only been together for less than an hour!!!!! So, we are about to start the hike, I shall write again as soon as possible. First day full of new things.

Hello all and thank you for reading all these posts that I have put up, I apreciate that you comment on them, I will try to put a knew one up everyday, but not promising anything.
Well today, and yesterday I guess, where very eventful days. I will start with friday. I got up at around 10 o'clock and just hung around Vanbeelan's house until 2:30. Vanbeelans took us to the airport because they had to pick up some people coming from holland. So dad and I said our good byes and we were off. We were hoping there would be no delays but as we walked up the stairs we looked at our flight info and it said "Air Transat to Amsterdam Flight 850 delayed, departure 22:30". Our origonal departure time was 20:30. Well dad said, we may as well look around for a bit. So we did, we spent the next 7 hours watching planes and eating food and walking around watching people and laughing at them. We also sat outside the international terminal and listened to all the different people with all there different languages. It was quite fun. Anyways, after many hours of waiting we went to go find out terminal. It was D70, there was alot of people there waiting for the plane to be bored also, and guess what, they were all dutch. I could not stop laughing at them because I am so used to my parents and my cousins talking dutch, but not anyone else, it was pretty funny.
We got on the plane, and we were off. I learned a few things on this flight. When you try to comunicate with a old dutch lady that doesn't know much english, speak really slooooowwww, or just try piece together some dutch. Also, when someone dutch talks to you really fast, just nod your head and say "Yes". Also you know how movies portray clouds being fluffy and able to land on, that is not true, you just go right through them, of course I knew that already. Flying into the Netherlands was awesome, because it was light and you could see everything, I saw tones of big ships, and other airplanes, it was very cool.
Well, other than Eilko picking us up and driving from one side of holland to the other in 2 hours, that was pretty much it for the first day of our trip.

Tomorrow we fly with Air Berlin to Bilboa, Spain, and we go to our destination, we hope and pray that everything will go well.

We're OFF

Yes, we are gone. Well, still in Canada, but not for long. Yesterday my dad and I woke up at around 5:00, we were out of the house by 5:45. We travelled for a long 12 hours and made it here to Langely. We visited Mom's grandma Truus and we ate dinner at Earls, dad had a big sandwich and I had chicken casadias. After dinner and visiting, we found Henk Van Beelen's house. We waited there till they came home and then chated for a while with them. Then we went to bed. Today we are currently waiting for tonight when our plane arrives at the Vancouver Airport. It is scheduled to arrive at 8:50. Anyways, I shall hopefully write again when I arrive in Holland.

ALMOST!!!

8 days, and we are out of here. My dad and I are both super exicted. We have every thing that we need, all the travelling is in order, all we need to do now is leave. I shall write again in here when we are gone, probably in Amsterdam or Spain some where.

Almost time!

Yes, we are all ready counting down the days. There is only 33 days left until our departure. We will be driving down to Vancouver on the 25, and flying out on the 26. My dad and I almost have everything that we need, just a few more items of clothing and then we are set. Anyways, I will write again soon.
