Wow.... that was a long day. But first I will start with last night.
Last night dad and I went to go walk around the town. We went into different churches and such. One church there was these two little old ladies sitting outside, and when we went in they came in to. Dad was in th mood to play an organ from one of these churches. He asked, with a series of various hand signs, if he could play the organ. The ladies said yes. So we went up stairs of this very large cathedral. We could not figure out how to start playing the organ, I looked in the back and you had to pump it. Dad started playing it, and he asked how old it was. It turned out to be made in 1696!!!!!! Dad had to play it one more time, he played psalm 25 while I was in the back pumping. Mrs. Ewald and betty made us supper which consister of pasta with some really nasty dense bread. It was good. At 9:45 we went to bed.
I did not sleep very well at all, had a bleeding nose and all. at 6:00 we woke up and left by 6:30. We hiked through many different towns. The temperature today probably got up to 34 degrees. Pretty hot, and it is going to get hotter. We got here at around 12:30 and got all the chores done by 1:30. I am now sitting here in shorts and a tee-shirt sweating my butt off.
To gloria, yes, mrs. Ewald does make us do the good thing bad thing. It is quite funny.
To dave and Threasa; it is kind of an organised hike, but you do it at your own speed. Yes we stay in hostels along the way, the price ranges from 5-8 euros a night per person.
So all in all, today was not a really fun day, but it was a good day. The weather is only going to get hotter from here on.
Hope you all enjoyed reading this, I will try to get either my dad or mrs. Ewald to post later tonight.
Buen Camino

Hi Gloria, I couldn´t get on my own e'mail so thought I would say hi this way. After all, I put the euro in to make this thing work. Would you please give Ed & Brenda and Jenny the address to this blog so they can read it too. That way they will get a bit more information. Yes, Jake is right, today was a hot one and the 21 kms seemed longer than usual. As soon as we hit our next Aubergue, we have a shower, do laundry and then rest. I have my first little blister on my heel. Duct tape coming up. Better go. Thea
Jakob,
Weather in Smithers is cooler after morning rain.
Playing a very old organ sounds so like fun to me....your help at the bellows was definitely needed.
It is really nice how everyone looks after each other in different ways...interesting connections with other pilgrims.
I love the word 'pilgrim'...the dictionary says a pilgrim is "a traveler in an alien land" or "one who travels to a holy place as an act of devotion".
When I read that I think we are all pilgrims on the journey of life.
stay cool, gloria
