Day 10- Najera to Santa Domingo- 583 km left

Wow, that was easy
Today we woke up at around 6 and were out of the door by 6:20. Today was only at 21 km hike, nice and short. Dad and I both thought we should leave later because then we would get there to early, but no the ladies insisted that we left as usual. So we were off. It was supposed to be around 34 degrees and it was. We only made to stops. There were lots of nice flowers and stuff along the trail. Lots of different crops such as Potatoes, sugar beets, and grapes. Dad shin hurt today, so we took it easy today. It is alot nicer to go slow then to just think about getting there because you can actually see what you are hiking through. Basically we just hiked through alot of fields today. We got here at around 11:45, lots of time. The Albequerque did not open until 12 so dad and I just sat there. Betty and Mrs. Ewald had gone up ahead of us but we did not see them, so we just sat there. At 12 o´clock we got let into our room, a nice room with about 6 beds in it. It turned out that Betty and Mrs.Ewald checked into a different hostel than we did, so we are not sleeping in the same hostel tonight, ah well. After taking showers and doing laundry we played a game of cards. The game is called smear, we have been playing it for the last few days and today was the last game, so mrs, Ewald and I had to win. After around 20 mintues we lost :( Dad and Betty were the Champions, not good. We let Betty and Mrs. Ewald go and do their internet thing while dad and I made dinner. HAMBURGERS!!!!! We also had a salad beside and a Melon for dessert. It was very good. Well, that is all that had happened today so I am going to say thank you all for posting comments, again it is great to see that people are actually reading. Only 583 km left until we get to go to holland!! See you all in more than a month.!
Bon appetit!!!!!!!!!!

Your blog came in a bit later this a.m....always interesting. Walking through farms & sheep seems very peaceful/pastoral.
Can't imagine 30+ temp when Smithers can hardly get above 15...it's that long-lingering low pressure hovering above.
Oohh...Thea is very competitive....I've only won cribbage twice against her.
Your burger supper is my favorite...Thea loves salads & fruit...good food keeps everyone happy :-)
Question: what is the original mileage number you started at?
stay cool...gloria
